A fine art graduate, with a professional painting career spanning over 40 years, a list of solo exhibitions, the first in Exeter in 1980 and a collection of international awards. Or more simply put an artist who loves to paint the sea and boats and does it in both traditional and contemporary styles.
Much of his traditional style subject matter originates from a fascination with local history. Locations local to his home county of Devon that he knows well are frequently incorporated into his paintings.
In total contrast his often large and striking much more contemporary canvases of the sea and water are quite eye catching. Many of which have gained international acclaim. He has been very fortunate to have spent so much of his life next to the sea and for 25 years he had the benefit of a studio on a Devon cliff top.
